El Gaucho feels like old-school Aruba dinner energy in the best possible way. Dark wood, huge steaks, red wine, waiters who have clearly seen tourists underestimate portion sizes for decades, and the smell of charcoal drifting through the whole restaurant.
The place is famous for Argentine beef, and honestly, the portions are slightly ridiculous. People come in planning to “share a starter and stay reasonable” and then suddenly a giant steak arrives at the table looking like it could feed a small family.
What makes El Gaucho work is that it still feels a little old-fashioned in a good way. Live guitar music walking through the restaurant, strong sangrias, long dinners, and absolutely no minimalist fine dining energy.
